Keith's Story
Life
My Spouse
I was married to Pat Cornwell (DHS Class of 1962) from Dunedin for 39 years. She passed away in January of 2005 from complications associated with liver cancer. In the spring of 2006 I attended the Dunedin 50s Reunion in Tarpon Springs and there I met Linda Cono Hunt (CHS Class of 1961), who had been widowed about the same time as I was. We became friends and on December 6, 2008, we were married at Andrews Memorial Chapel in Dunedin. Right now we're trying to live in two places -- Clearwater and Orange Park -- but our aim is to reside in Linda's house in Clearwater.
My Pets
Down to five cats (who haven't been told that they may have to move to a new place soon).
My Kids
Trevor and Troy are great kids. They are 41 and soon to be 40. Both live in the same town as I. Troy is married and has two daughters, 8 and 6.
My Job
I was a Navy officer for 22 years, an environmental consultant for a Jacksonville engineering firm for 13 years and a high school teacher...Expand for more
. I'm now retired, but still sub at a couple of Jacksonville area high schools.
Although I sang off and on in church choirs over most of my life, a big step came when I was accepted into the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus in 1985. I sang with them for 23 years during which time I appeared in five operas. I've also studied voice and had several voice students myself. I've been a choir director, organist, arranger, soloist and cantor. I've also done a lot of arranging and some choral composition. In 2005 I joined a Jacksonville bagpipe band for the purpose of learning to play Pat's bagpipes. (She was the first piper in Dunedin in 1957 at the age of 13) and in 2007, as part of the Celebration of Fifty Years of Piping [1957 - 2007] in Dunedin, I played the introduction to a bagpipe hymn trilogy (that I'd arranged) with the Dunedin Highland Middle School Band and Highlander Pipe Band at their annual Spring Concert. I've continued to adapt secular and religious music for bagpipes.
