Keith's Story
Life
My dad was from Edinburg, Va and enlisted after WWII. We travelled from base to base from before I was born untill he retired in 1978. I attended kindergarten, 1st grade at Loring AFB, Maine. Moved to Burk Burnett Texas and attended 2rd grade at I believe Evans Elementary under Mrs. Quattlebomb. We were restationed to Beale AFB in California, where I attended 3rd and part of the 4th grade at Lone Tree Elementary. We went to Virginia, where I finished the year at Edinburg Elementary. We were again relocated to Biloxi, Mississippi where I attended a school near Keesler AFB for the 5th grade and once again moved to Virginia where I finished the year at an Alexandria elementary school with Miss Terry. The next year I attended 6th grade on the island of Okinawa at Camp Mercy Elementary school. Then the following year completed the 7th grade at Kubisaki Jr. High School, followed by the 8th grade at Camp Hansen Jr. High under Miss Parks. I transfered to Novato HS for the 10th grade and attended AF Jr. ROTC. I was a Flight commander my sophomore year, and participated in the competitive award winning military Drill Team. For the 11th grade it was back to Virginia to Woodstock and Central HS while my fatehr went to Viet Nam. I don't remember many names, Just Mrs Gochonour for biology and Kaufman for history. I remember the tall leggy English teacher I had for homeroom and the gorgeous typing instructor I had for secretarial typing (all I wanted was personal typing but had to take this instead. The best part of the class was getting to look at her.) After Central it was off to Germany and Kaiserslautern American High School. After graduation I attended U of MD Munich Campus for two years. I matriculated back to Norfolk Virginia where I earned a BS and MS in Geology. I then moved to Oklahoma to work for Phillips Petroleum. I have since worked as a petroleum and environmental geologist based from Houston, Texas. I currently work developing exploration software in Houston.
