CLASS OF 1984
Downsview, ON
Toronto, ON

Keith's Story

Life Born in Toronto, and spent most of my young life in Downsview. From 1979-1984 I attended Blaydon Ave public school. I lived on Whitburn Crescent and Paxtonia Blvd (right near the library). Who could forget teachers like Mr. Rodgers, Mr. Kozlowski,Mr.Gordon, Ms. Younger,Mrs.Hartley,Mrs Pedarian and my very first teacher while attending Blaydon, Mrs. Lillian. Ahh, the good and bad memories! LOL!canaducker(hotm) My first brief stay in Blaydon was in 1977, in Mrs. Lillian's class. I came back in '79 and went straight into Mrs. Hartley's. From there I was in Mrs. Younger's from late '79 to mid 1980. Finally, Mr. Rodgers class from 1980 till' 1984, with Mrs. Lowry taking over the class after Mr. Rodger's departure in late 1983. I had blond hair and blue eyes. Not to mention having to wear glasses by the time I was ten years old. I was then off to Elia JHS for three years. I can remember teachers such as Mr.Stokes,Mr.Owen,Mr.Steinberg,Mr.Morrow,Ms.McColl,Mr.Gerrard,Mr.Miller,Ms.Donskov,Mr.Murley,Mr.Totino etc. I also recall having some former friends like Mirko Ruaro, Danny Shuttleworth and Pat Skinner. Can't forget girls like Emmanuella or Liz, either! :-) If you're wondering, no I didn't get lucky. LOL! My last years of shooling were at Downsview Secondary.I lived just down the road(Paxtonia BLVD). Loved being close to home! Mr. Erwin Brown,Ms.Salvatore,Mr. Geicko,Ms.Koenig,Mr.Kjollesdal,Mr.Anthony are the teachers I remember most. Attended DSS from 88-90. I'm trying to get into songwriting. I can also sing well and play the guitar. I'm not married, have kids or am dating a lady at this time.I do have hi-speed internet though! :-) I'm working on computer. I like reading about North American and European history, humour, supernatural, sports (NHL hockey mostly).Like playing video games. Have an Xbox and PS2. Love music. 70's and 80's hard rock and pop still being some of my favourite stuff to listen to. School I liked a number of girls while attending junior high, and high school. There are some other girls I can picture, but can't remember their names. The teacher inspired me most was Mr. Brown, my english teacher in Downsview Secondary School. He was a true gentleman. He was always encouraging me.Mr. Kjollesdal was also a very good teacher.I must not forget Mr.Totino who was also a very good teacher, and another gentlman as well. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for a numerous amou...Expand for more
nt of teachers I had in my past. Mr. Gordon was probably the oddest teacher I can remember. He was my french teacher for a couple of years. He was a big guy with red hair, and a big bushy moustache. His class was on the main floor of the school. This was in Blaydon. Man, did he have a temper! He could yell at a pitch I haven't heard too many times in my life. He was also a man who refused to use a kleenex while his nose was running. He used his sleeves as the alternative. Can't forget the times he fell asleep in class, snoring away in his rocking chair.LMAO! I didn't find Mr. Koslowski all too pleasant either. He didn't have much patience. He instilled fear in his class. The man could be a total jackass. Mabe he should have taught reform school kids instead? I could have seen him as an executioner, psychopath or prison guard. I wasn't a bad kid. I was a very friendly kid, with difficulties mind you, but certainly not a bad kid. That didn't stop him from pushing a baseball hard into my back because I didn't know how to play. However, to forgive is divine, and I have done so. :) If I could do it over again under different circumstances, I would possibly consider it. Under the same set of difficulties and adversity, never. Hey, but there were some good times as well! I'll never regret getting my HS diploma, that's for sure! High anxiety was a major issue for me while growing up.Getting help for that neurobiological disorder( Asperger syndrome)which is in the autistic spectrum, helped substantially. I was 18 when I was diagnosed. Not getting help at a young age only hindered my progress. I could have had done much better had I done something about it sooner. People who I remember clearly from Blaydon- Eric Roberts,John Boucher,Lois Costello,Rhonda,Colin,Elizabeth Patton,Brenda Ludgate (God rest her soul), Junior McCarthy, Alan Marialovic,Tracey Murray, Kathleen, Robert King, Lorrie Bennett, Lorrie (red haired girl, who's mother Carrol was my babysitter for a year or two) Ricky (Lorrie's brother). Tracey Murray, Tracey's sister Carrol etc. Let's not forget the teachers! Mr. Gordon, Mr.Kozlowski,Mr.Rodgers,Mr.Lynch(principal), Mr. Isaac (random substitute teacher), Mrs. Hobbs (Mr. Rodgers assistant), Mr. Dellessio, Mr. Barber (principal),Mrs. Hartley, Mrs.Kirsch, Mrs. Lillian (first teacher from my very first brief stay in Blaydon in 1977) Mrs. Pederian and Mrs. Lowry. Can't forget our secretary Mrs.Irwin.
