Keith's Story
i was born at a very early age - in fact, i was an infant when i was first born. after a few years i went to school. then i went to another school. then i went to still another school. then i went to work. actually, i had worked before, but not as many hours. also, when i reported to work, they sent me to school - several times in fact. (i've spent a lot of time in school).
i lived in a train station on the Mainline for a few years. it was there that i learned how to sleep through anything. i became a nomadic goat herder for awhile, but soon gave that up because i heard there was more opportunity in digging up live ants for use in plastic ant farms. some other interesting vocationary pursuits i have dabbled in are:
- Chief Egg Smeller (smelling eggs after they are broken open to check for spoilage);
- Chimney Sweep (served a 2-year apprenticeship before being licensed to practice);
- Chicken Sexer (i sorted through baby chicks to determine if they were male or female, and then segregated them by placing the hatchlings on the appropriate track early, enabling the chickens to receive optimal nourishment for their likely commercial role from an early age) [side note - i had to resign from that position when i came across an hermaphrodite chicken, became very confused and wasn't sure which track to place himmer or herim on];
- Certified Process Engineer of Enthnobotanicals (involved in Global Mycologicals and Mondo Mycologicals research & development, as well as development of cultivation supplies & spores.
...it's hard to explain what i do now, but i'm still working. i haven't been to school in a while, although i do have to take online training classes every now & then. oh, i almost forgot...once, i went...Expand for more
to school, but not to be a student - they actually let me teach! once.
and i also went to japan for awhile. japan was awesome. then i had to leave and go back to work in the US.
so, lately i've been living in another time/space continuum. it's pretty interestin....much is the same as living in our world as we know it, but there are a few subtle differences. like - when you flush the toilets, the water swirls counterclockwise instead of clockwise as it does in our dimension. they have cheesesteaks there as well, but the serve them on big, round kaiser roles...it's just not the sames as a philly cheesteak. the thing i find the most interesting, however, is that when people sneeze there, they sneeze out through their ears...it's very interesting to watch and experience (i even take a little pepper with me when i go just to get some people sneezing). one downside - they go through twice as much kleenex.
have you ever noticed that as you age, your brain does not seem to keep up with the fact that your body is getting older and can't do all the things it used to be able to do? i don't mind telling you that i've also been startled more than once when when i have looked into a mirror and saw this old, middle-aged, slightly over-weight man starring back at me. I think it must be a defective mirror and i should replace it sometime.
i'm still working my tail off, but, truthfully, that is really a bit misleading....i actually had it surgically removed several years ago because i found it annoying (not to mention painful) when it kept getting stuck in subway and elevator doors.
oh well, the mothership is signalling that they are going to beam me up soon, so i need to end for now.
