Kelli's Story
The wildest thing (that I remember) I ever did in high school was take my mom's car without permission. I had no permit and no license and decided I would drive my friend, Sherry, to a dance at the high school. Well, of course, I couldn't just go directly to the school. We had to do a little joy-riding first. So we drove all the way out West Broadway to Lexington (trust me, this was definitely the long way-we lived in town) before heading to the school. nd I was going to fast, missed the curve and went off the road into a small tree. We were stuck! Someone who lived nearby came to help but the police were already there. The officer brought me home, but first I asked him to drop Sherry at the school so she wouldn't miss the dance. She got there. I think she was a little embarrassed however, at having been brought by a police escort. It was such a traumatic event then...I think it's hilarious now. I swear by Monday everyone at school had heard about it. LOL
