Kelly's Story
Life
Right after high school I started college. After 2 and 1/2 years at Southern, I transferred to Marshall. I worked my way through college as work study/office assistant each semester and lifeguard at Chief Logan State Park Pool each summer. I finally graduated from Marshall in 1998. Thank God debt free.
I began teaching in Logan and Lincoln County I taught at Chapmanville Middle, East Chapmanville and Harts High and sub-ed at just about all Logan County schools for three years. Then, I was a Truancy Diversion Social Worker in the Chapmanville area schools. I was like a truant office (kinda). Then the grant did not get refunded so I began working at Southern WV Community College. Worked there for 4 years until I earned my Masters degree...Expand for more
in Teaching. I now teach 12th grade history at Logan High. This is my second year at Logan High. I would have never dreamed of becoming a teacher...I always hated school and I had no intentions of going to college. I just knew that when I was through with high school.....I would never step foot in a school again!
I have never been married. I have no children, although I do have 3 little cousins I claim as niece and nephews. I attend Henlawson Trinity Freewill Baptist Church where I teach sunday school to 4, 5, and 6 year olds.
Looking forward to this 15 year reunion coming up this summer. Hope we have a big turn out. First Sunday in August. It is all on Chris Ojeda's myspace page called Chapmanville High Alumni. Will be fun...and free.
