Kelly's Story

At the age of 18, I landed in Long Island, NY working as a nanny. I was following suit of a few other girls that I knew to do the same from Clover Park. After a year of doing this, I moved to New York City and invested in a business. I traveled up and down the East Coast in the food related industry. From NYC I moved back to Lakewood and worked for 3 months before traveling to Dutch Harbor, AK and worked on factory trawlers (mainly The Heather Sea) in the Berring Sea. I did this off-and-on, between contracts for 5 years. I also worked at a seafood store in Lakewood for 2 1/2 years in between. San Fransico Bay area. I am a mother to a 13-year-old girl and step-mom to a 16-year-old boy. I received a diploma in Medical Transcription, but instead, I do the books for my husband and my brother-in-law's company. The challenges of learning new things and different ways of bringing in money are what makes me excell for the moment. The next challenge awaits in the distance. I hope all is well and life is good for anybody who might read this. May life bless you with many happy adventures and may you remain true to yourself always. I have thought of many of you along the way, and although reflection can be hard, it is good. Learn everyday. LK
