Kelly's Story
Life
(Updated June 2008) My wonderful husband, Jay McCurry, and I have 3 beautiful daughters. Abigayle is 6. Aliya is 3. Adah is one year old. We reside in Edmond, Oklahoma. Jay owns his own corporate training company and we have an online travel company (mccurrytravel.com). I teach voice lessons and am a stay at home mom.
After graduating from Ellsworth High School, I went to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. I graduated in 1995 with a degree in music. I went on 2 summer missions trips while at ORU: Honduras in 1993 for 6 weeks and Brazil in 1995 for 8 weeks. I then got a job as a financial aid counselor at ORU and worked there for 3 years while I completed my Master's degree in education. I met my husband when he got a job in the financial aid office at ORU to pursue his Master's degree in education. I married Jay McCurry in May...Expand for more
of 1999. I got a job teaching High School vocal music in Yukon, OK and we moved to Oklahoma City. I worked in Yukon for a year and then got a job teaching elementary music in Moore, OK. We bought our first house in Moore and I quit teaching when I had our first daughter, Abigayle, in April of 2002. In July of 2004, Jay was hired as the administrator of Life Christian School in St. Louis, MO. I was pregnant with our 2nd daughter and had her in November of 2004. Jay completed his doctorate in Christian education in the summer of 2005. He was the administrator at LCS for 2 years. When we found out we were expecting our 3rd daughter we decided to move back to Oklahoma to be close to family. Jay was the Middle School Principal at Oklahoma Christian School for 2007-2008. He resigned to build our businesses. We currently attend North Church.
