Kelly's Story
Life
I'm a Nationwide Insurance agent living in Richmond, Virginia. I graduated with a B.A. in Russian Studies and Politics from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1992, went to graduate school in Political Science at the University of Richmond, which didn't quite work out, and I'm paying off those student loans while I decide if I want to be an academic or a professional. The professional side is currently winning. My partner Shirley and I have been together since 1992, and while I haven't gotten around to having any children yet, she has 2 nieces and 2 nephews who occupy our maternal instincts. We do, however, have 3 dogs and 2 savannah monitor lizards (to be precise, she has the lizards -- I tend to avoid them). pbrothers, James and Jonathan. Mom is still working at St. Joseph's, and my grandfather moved to Oak Crest Village in 1997, where he is quite the popular fellow. I'm still an avid baseball fan and bookworm, and I enjoy playing around on the Internet. I also (frighteningly enough) follow football, WNBA basketball, and professional wrestling. I'm active in both Republican and gay/lesbian community politics, and am considering a run for school board in a couple of years. Shirley is the Executive Director of Virginians for Justice, which is a lobbying group, and also works in management at Capital One. As you might imagine, she's also quote active in the political arena; she is the chair of the Richmond Human Rights Commission and is considering a run for City Council in the 2004 election season.
