Life
I'm in my "final" career -- having had a few -- as a court reporter with Los Angeles Superior Court. I have been with either Orange County or Los Angeles County for just shy of 20 years. Court reporting supports my addiction: real estate. I am a Realtor and my husband and I have a business consisting of buying, rehabbing and renting properties. We don't flip. We love the challenge of finding the best deal -- a property thousands of dollars under market, acquiring it, updating/rehabbing it, and then getting it rented immediately. great piece of real estate and help with the transformation. Even the three-year-old wields a mean paint brush! We're hoping that we can teach them the importance of investing at an early age, especially in real estate. They are seeing first-hand how this process can increase multi-fold the value of a house. We are venturing now into commercial properties, but still pick up the occasional single family residence if it's a deal that cannot be passed up. This can be stressful, but it's also extremely fulfilling to see a project at the very end after all of our hard work. We work very well as a team, and it's been a great experience for our family.
