Ken's Story
October 2009:
Hello to old friends. This is a brief modification and update of my note from March '09.
My basic facts:
After Northwood I attended Harding University in Searcy, Ark., and majored in Psychology and Bible. I then went to the U. of Arkansas to get my doctorate in clinical psychology.
My jobs have included being a psychologist in a mental health center for 5 years (Springdale, AR); being the Chief of Mental Health Services with the Missouri Dept. of Corrections for 6 years, and then returning to Harding U. to teach for the past 16 years.
I met my wife Julie during our freshman year at Harding. We married during our senior year and have 4 children, with their ages ranging from 22-29. o Nashville; David (22) recently transferred to Mercer U.in Georgia and is majoring in English. My wife Julie is an accountant and has worked for a world mission school in Searcy for 16 years.
Now that the kids are grown my life is basically teaching, cooking (I cook while Julie teaches Aerobics/Pilates), walking, being an avid Razorbacks & St. Louis Cardinals fan, and being involved at our church.
For those who know my parents, their house burned in October and my father spent a couple of days in ICU, but they are doing great and moving to a house around the Northwood Country Club.
While at home last weekend I was able to attend a dedication at Northwood--the baseball complex was dedicated to Coach James Farrar. I got to see Melody only briefly and got to talk to Chip Layton a bit, but it was a fine ceremony in honor of our original coach and athletic director and I know he loved it.
