Ken's Story
My pre-school years were at or near construction sites starting with Parker Dam, Whitney Point Dam, NY, Shasta Dam (Redding) and finally Casitas Springs where I attended K-3 in the little 2 room school house that was still standing the last time I looked, then Oak View and Nordhoff Elementary. From there to Ventura Jr. & Sr. High and Ventura JC.
I boxed most of my teen years (Olympic, Hollywood legion Auditoriums and the old El Rio Barn to name a few), and built hot rods.
My school sport was track which I lettered at both the HS and JC. I continued running into my late 50's including several LA Marathons. The Draft Board caught up with me in 1962,...Expand for more
Trained at Fort Ord, Fort Sill, and served a tour in Korea where the cold winters produce some really good apples. Married since 1965 to Joy Charlene (Hunicutt). We have two sons, Kenneth C., and Michael L. Kenny is married and lives and works as a baker in Laughlin, NV. Michael is single, is VP of Operations at an Internet Service Provider. I recently retired from Lewis and Lewis where I worked for three generations of Lewis' since 1956. Joy and I live comfortably on a small farm (lemons) between Ventura and Santa Paula. I'm often found at the Ventura Cross on weekends flying radio controlled sailplanes over the Avenue with my friends.
