Kenneth's Story
Life
I quit my job February 1, 2010. If I get a check at the end of the month, I guess I'll be retired. If I don't I'll just be unemployed.
I was married from 7/31/70 until 8/7/02 to Linda Taylor (Waycross HS Class of '69). We have one daughter (Rebecca). She is a UGA grad and owns her own business. She teaches math at Ware County High School. On 7/30/2005 I married Kim Simmons of Savannah. We bought a house on the pond in Frontier Estates in Waycross. I graduated from South Ga. College, Valdosta State Univ, and Thomas University. I have degrees in Music and Criminal justice and a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University. I worked for The State of Georgia for 33 years. I last worked in the Waycross Office of the Division of Rehab Services. I've worked as a Probation Officer, Training Officer, Rehab. Counselor and a number of other things. My hobbies are collecting coins, music, and collecting antique hand wood working tools. My favorite music is Carolina Beach. It's really old R&B. My older sister introduced me ...Expand for more
to it when I was about 12. Loved it ever since. I try to go to Myrtle Beach, S.C. twice a year for the Shagger's week (SOS).
In the past I have served as a member of the local board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters. the advisory council at Roosevelt Warm Springs Inst., Pres. of Ware Jaycees, Director of Jaycees Region 10-A. President of the Waycross Exchange Club, President of the Ga Rehab Counseling Assoc., and the Pres. of the Ga. Rehab. Assoc. in 2007. I play a game that some call golf. However, when I play it, the resemblance is slight. My best friend since the first grade is Ray Taylor (Ware class of '67). We play golf, watch football together, and like to sit on the porch and drink liquor and beer. We sit around, gloating about looking younger than many of our classmates, and say things like, "Yeah, we might be fat but by god we still got our hair and this fat keeps all our wrinkles stretched out". Having your own hair means a lot.
I would love to hear from you, call me. My number is home:(912) 283-6253, email kenbenn at yahoo dot com.
