Kenneth's Story
Life
After High School, I married Annie Kyre (Central Grad), and took a job at the Post Office as a letter carrier. We have 2 sons, Ken & Keith. In 1969, I began studying Karate (Tae-Kwon-Do) under Master Jhoon Pyo Choi, and Master Choon Mo Yang and recieved my 1st Degree black Belt 2 yrs later, at which time I started teaching self defense at YMCA's, local karate schools and fighting in tournaments in Mid-west Region.
Annie and I divorced after 15 years of marriage, but remain best friends.
In 1981,I met my present wife Brenda (North High Grad), married her and raised her 2 children Rob and Dawn. I took on a second job as Store Detective for Gold Circle Stores up until they closed in late 80's. In the mid- 80's I became a 32nd Degree Mason and also an Aladdin Temple Shriner (Patrol Unit) .
In 1990 I was accepted into the Columbus Police Academy, graduated 7 months later, and became a Columbus Police Officer (Reserve Unit).
In 1991 I became a Charity Newsie ( local charitable organization providing school age children with clothes and supplies), and in 1997 my wife Brenda became a Charity Newsie also ( one of the first women ever let into the organization).

March of 2001, I applied to, and was offered a commission with Blendon Township Police Dept. I retired from CPD after 11 years of service to become a Blendon Township Police Officer where I am now presently employed as a part-time officer, I also work part time with the U. S. Marshals Service ! I retired from U.S. Postal Service Dec. 31 2003 after 37 years. Brenda and I have 6 Grandchildren, 3 girls (Mariah, Skylar, Ceara)& ; 3 boys (Charlie,Jeffrey & Jacob). Brenda is taking classes to become a Feng-Shui Consultant and I am attempting to remodel the house to make it more harmonious (as she puts it)!
Our favorite hobby is spoiling the grandkids and sending them back home to their parents ( a little pay back for all the back talk when they were teens). We've managed to round up about 8 - 10 of our friends every Labor Day weekend for the past 6 - 7 years and we all go down to Virginia Beach , Va. for a couple of weeks of ocean fun, adult beverages and no Sponge Bob or Barney to listen to.
Well, this is more info than you probably ever wanted, BUT, you would not believe how many chores and odd jobs this has got me out of, while I sit in front of this computer looking like I am working on something very , very important.
