Kenneth's Story
Life
Well, just before graduation from high school, I was hired at Sears at White Oaks Mall. I started at Lincoln Land the following fall semester. I worked my way through Lincoln Land, finally graduating in the fall of '86 with an Associate in Science. During my last year of classes at Lincoln Land, I enlisted in the Air National Guard at Capital Airport in Springfield. I went away to Basic Training and Technical School in January of '87. ed in the summer semester. I continued on there for the next three years. After having to sit out three years from SIU, I was able to re-enroll, and finish my Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. I returned to Springfield after that, working at Sears until I was able given the opportunity to apply at AT&T (i.e. SBC, Illinois Bell Telephone). I still work for AT&T, and I'm still enlisted in the Air Guard. I still live in Springfield. I'm single, but have a steady girl friend.
