Kenneth's Story
Life
Yes, it is my son (Ken Jennings III) who broke all the Jeopardy Records. He has had three NY Times bestsellers and is now under contract to write children's non-fiction. It doesn't get any better than that!
After leaving MHS I put in one year of college as an EE major, then spent 2 1/2 years in Korea doing voluntary service for my church. On returning to the UW I changed my major to Asian Studies, Korean & Chinese. I met a cute blond also majoring in Asian studies - Cathi Coltrin (Meadowdale '70!). Since there was nothing to do with a BA in Asian Studies, I went on to law school and after 3 years with Garvey, Schubert & Barer in Seattle, I took a 2 year "leave of absence" to affiliate with a Korean law firm. We ended up spending the next 16 years in Korea and Singapore, and traveling all over the world -- essentially raising our family overseas. music  it was great! Most of my legal work has been in the high-tech sector. I worked as Asia Pacific Division Counsel for Oracle, head of technology law at Novell, and general counsel of TenFold and Digital Gateway. I am now in private practice with a good friend doing patent law, licensing, and general high tech business law. All four of my children are married and one son and one son-in-law are attorneys (they never learn!). After 16 years living in little apartments in Asia, we built a large "Victorian replica" home in lovely Alpine, Utah and enjoy being 1 mile from a national wilderness area as well as 20 minutes from Utah's "Little Silicon Valley." In my free time (very little), I am busy with church work and yard work, gardening (I grow my own okra!), play a little jazz piano, dabble in music theater, and build kayaks. I would love to share memories with any one in the class. Cheers!
