Kenneth's Story
Hey, the year is 2008, and it's been a LONG 55 years of life! If we went to school together, were neighborhood or church friends, anywhere along that long road between "then and now", I really hope you'll take the time and drop me a note to say hello.
The older I've gotten, and the more traveling I've done, the more I've come to realize that there have been many, many people in my life that I'd just like to be able to sit down with one more time, and talk with.
Having been a salesman for most of my adult life, before going in Information Technology (computers), I've always found it easy to talk to and with people. My fiance, Fran, and I got into motorcycling in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, and meeting people on the road, having lunch, riding different places with me, and in some very lucky cases, making lifelong friends, I still fall back on wishing I could meet up with the people who meant so much to me in my school-day years - girls and guys. I'd like to know what's been going on in your lives, how things have gone, and how your family is.
I only spent 3 years in Meridian, MS but it is just unbelievable how those years, and those people, have left their mark on me. I miss you guys, each and every one.
I got married in 1974, to a really wonderful (and incredibly smart)New Orleans girl, had 4 great children (2 boys, 2 girls), worked for my Dad in the steel business for 13 years (some of t...Expand for more
he best and hardest of my life), ended up as a photographer, business consultant, back in steel sales, and finally opened my own computer consulting business in 1995.
Sad to say (and even harder to admit), I was a workaholic. If I would have applied as much effort to my marriage and family as I did the business, maybe I'd be in a different situation now (as in not divorced). But I didn't, and the blame for that lies mostly with me. But that did begin a new, and unexpected chapter of my life, and her name is Fran. She is the first one to bring a Harley into my life, and that in itself opened doors I never imagined.
We began dating in July, 2005 shortly after being served with divorce papers (we met on Yahoo Personals of all places...) and have been together through Katrina and everything else since. We are the proud parents of 3 dogs, 2 cats, 6 kids (her two and my four), a Harley Ultra Classic and a Honda Goldwing, and continue to find ways to expand our horizons.
A wedding is in the immediate future, and that will start another chapter. In the meantime, I'm working on my first novel, and by all acccounts (from everyone who's read it so far), it will be a bestseller (wishful hoping on my part).
If you've gotten this far, please drop me a note and say 'hi', either here at Classmates.com or per personal address: magee1 at ix.netcom.com.
Thanks for reading - hope to hear from you soon!
