Kenneth's Story
After a year at the U of M, I married & worked in Massachusetts for a year, moved back to B.C. and worked at Battle Creek Pkg. until I was drafted in '64. Did 4 yrs active duty in the Army 101st Airborne with 2 1/2 yrs in Vietnam was a POW 20 weeks, wounded by an NVA bayonet and was sent home to be in the 327th Army Band then did 3 more yrs. in the Army reserves then 12 yrs. in the Michigan ANG 110th Fighter wing. ired. I didn't go back. I played drums in various bands in the area for 50 yrs. Worked for the BC Ambulance Co., Leila Hospital, then the City of Battle Creek Public Service Dept. for 30 yrs. where I retired. Drove Semi OTR a few yrs. after my retirement then went to driving school bus for Harper Creek. for 2 seasons. (Too noisy)
Finally retiring full time in 2007 to just ride my Harley's and enjoy life. I do volunteer my time one day a week though (Monday) as a Honor Guard at the Ft.Custer National Cemetery.
