Kenn's Story
For those of you that may still be alive and kicking, not in jail, dead or simply can still remember "We want Drag Hag" this is Kenn Penman, Class of 69 (almost), but moved to California in 1967 right after my sophomore year! Went form Tommy James and the Shondells to Big Brother and the Holding Company in just three weeks!
Real quickly: lived in CA unitl 1971, then entered the US Air Force - stayed 21 years. Retired in 92 and moved to Europe and worked for NATO until 2001 and returned to the States. Have worked as a consultant for many years. Most notably from 11/2008 to 11/2010 I was a consultant to NATO on two projects; one in Luxembourg and one in Afghanistan. Now that I'm home, my future plans revolve around my new business, Home4Good,as a private real estate investor. Just spent an unbelievable 3-day weekend event that is invaluable to achieving my goals.
have 4 kids and 5 grand-daughters.
My mother still lives in the Falls and even though I try to get her down here to Miami, FL she simply won't budge! Prefers blizzards to hurricanes, apparently.
Favorite teachers I would love to know more about are: Mr. Robert O'Toole (Reading - SoJr), Mr. Ed "White Socks" Elstrodt (Social Studies - SoJr), Mr. James Austin (English - SoJr), Mr. Bill "Drilled Paddle" S'Dao (VP - SoJr), Mr. Parsons (PE - SoJr), Mr. Kania (English SoJr), Mrs. Supkowski (EspaÃÂÃÂÃÂñol - SoJr) and Miss Sark...Expand for more
ees (English - Homeroom and Goddess LOL - SoJr).
I was married last May 10, 2010 in Luxembourg to a wonderful woman that I met almost 6 years ago before I deployed to Afghanistan!
The picture I posted was taken last year at the NATO office, Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, during my stint as the US Liaison Officer. I was there a s apapmered NATO civilian, prohibited from going "outside the wire". Believe me when I say that I'm Home4Good!!! And one more thing: the next time you're in an airport and you see one of our men or women in uniform, you can let them know how much you appreicate what that 1% of the population is sacrificing for the remaining 99% of that same population by buying them lunch or a snack or maybe just give 'em $20 because they don't make that much anyway and thye just might be on emergency leave, due to a death in the family and have travelled a long long way to get that far.I know that its a personal thing, but keep in mind what they're giving up for us - whether you agree with the war or not. But believe me when I say that "Thank you for your service" in my opinion has become the new "Have a nice day". 'Nuff said 'bout that!
That's it for now peeps - later! I'm a Gold member and I would love to hear from any and all of you!
Maybe I'll make the NEXT reunion...before I'm 65! Sheesh! Before I said that I grew up during the 60's. But now, I AM the 60's!!! Damn Sam...
