Kenny's Story
Life
Career Air Force, retired after 23 years. Married, 2 boys and currently living in Antelope CA. I like making friends and keeping them. Treat people the way you want to be treated and compliment a woman (stranger) everyday, they are our queens.
School
My school memories Camelia elementary and my favorite teacher was Mr. Meder giving us the "boot" (side kick). Jr. High was at Will C. Wood, but I most remembered was only going half the day in high school and working at Mather Air Force Base as an order's clerk on a work credit program. I also remember being in the marching band in 77 and 78 with my best friend Vincent Downs.
College
My first college experience was in aeronatical classes at Sacramento community college. I received my B.S. at Touro Unversity and my Master's in International Business at Trident University.
Workplace
My favorite workplace so far in my life has been my 23 years with the U.S. Air Force and all the assignments I've been stationed at. I also had a short position at Yamas Controls Inc and made some great friends there. Got promoted three times in 18 months. Now I'm with Geary Pacific Supply as a Branch Manager. This job is an excellent place to work because of the freedom that my boss gives me, the support I receive and the team that I work with. I'm sure I'll build many memories to come.
Military
Wow, where do I begin; there are too many memories to mention, but here are highlights:
1980-1982; Sunnyvale, CA; Chris Lockett, Tyrone Bates, Kathy, Junko, Debbie, and the gang and I partied a lot. We went out 6 days a week; Charlies, Ophan Annies, Silks, Moffett Club; Phase 3 etc. Made some great friends.
1982-1983; Incirlik, Turkey; The Crazy 8; Mike, TC, Carol, the Black History Fashion Show and shopping in downtown Adana. The base club was the spot.
1983-1994; So...Expand for more
esterberg Air Base; Pinokios every Saturday; my room mate Ron Thomas; The CBPO Crew; The annual Jazz Fest in Den Haag; My Dutch Family, the Groenewolds; Many dates and close friends--Cathy, Tony, Penny & Tina, Stagg Monster, Chris Lockett, Lillie; My Dutch Sister Audrey; The nice Dutch people; meeting my wife Wilma, her mom, sisters and becoming part of the family; The birth of my boys; Donovan and Kairi; pannekokens, sharmas at 2am, Adam, Rotterdam; closing the base; and of course Party, party, party!
1994-1997; Mountain Home Air Force Base; Terrible for my European wife (bad 3 years away from her family); deployments; great friends; Colonel Remington and staff.
1997-2003; Great assignment; I was back home in Sacramento working with Recruiters; Love my job and the people I worked with; My crew; Jesus, Jon, Ami, Joseph, Maurice, Robert Hartwell and Corina Stout (97-99), Pam, Calvin and Khalid, and all the secretaries I was close too (Lisa, Terry, Jan, Pat, etc)...All Great Friends.
I always wanted to be a father when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
I love to golf, watch movies and now I'm back to roller skating at adult night at Sunrise Roller Rink.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have flexibility, a great staff, and sales to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Chris Lockette, because he was m best friend and I want to know that he is alright.. Update: Found out that Chris Lockett died on New Years Eve. will miss him.
Believe it or not, I don'w follow sports at all. I love to play golf and collect world paper money. My favorite TV shows are (brace yourself), Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Eureka, Heros, Journeyman, and reruns of all of Star Trek shows.
