Today, November 1st, 2012, is my first day as an employee of the Ontario Dental Association. A good day for I'm appreciated for the work that I do--a good day! As a Ricoh employee, I provided customer service to the ODA for seven years, and now I'm the customer's employee. Life I returned to H.H.S.S.,after 20 years of abstenance,to graduate in '90. I went into the CYW program in '90, & burnt out in a month. However, I returned in '92, after taking program-related courses, so that I would have a lighter course load & would have gained further knowledge, in order to succeed at Humber. After 1 & a half years, I discontinued, as being a Child & Youth Worker was not for me. Even though I dropped out, I had plans to drop back into the college life in '94. In '94, I entered Seneca's S.S.W. program & graduated in '96. In my 2nd year I was highly involved & successful in the salvation of the Social Service Worker Program, as Harris' government was eliminating duplicate programs in Toronto. In '96 the S.S.W. program relocated to Newmarket, moved to King Campus and now at head campus. Two weeks after the last day of classes, I was working part time, as Program Facilitator, with a social recreational organization for adult consumer survivors--people with mental health problems. As of July, '99, I worked as full time facilitator with the same organization, Sound Times Support Services, till July, 2001. I then worked at Among Friends in Etobicoke, as a Program Worker working with people with mental health problems. Then worked there as relief staff. When SARS hit Ontario, I worked as a SARS Screener at Lakeshore Area Multiservice Project. I am now working as an Onsite Senior Service Specialist with IKON Office Solutions and loving it.
