Life
Hi, all you Pacifica folk! I've been in exile in Dallas, Texas for the last 19 years, and am really missing the old stomping grounds! Here's the Reader's Digest version of what I've been 'about' in the last 30+ years:
Because of my mom's remarriage many years ago, I left the north end of Pacifica after 7th grade, briefly attended a private school in San Jose (The Harker Academy), and then went to high school at Terra Nova, where several influential teachers paved my way to a terrific education at Stanford. I got two degrees in four years at Stanford - a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences (basically applied math) and an M.S. in Operations Research (an engineering version of applied math). ool named Susan, whom I married in 1983. When she finished her graduate studies at Stanford, we moved to her hometown of Dallas, TX, where we live today. We have 3 great kids - Sarah, Daniel, and Nicole, ages 14, 11 and 3-1/2 respectively. I've been a systems analyst/engineer/programmer most of my career, but recently made an abrupt shift into the venture capital arena, where I work currently with a friend of mine.
I'd love to hear from any of my classmates, in any of the many places I've attended school, especially the "one-off" and "two-off" locations like Portland OR, American Samoa, or Rock Springs WY. It's a big, wide world out there, folks! Let's talk about it!
