Kevin's Story
High School -
One of a few self-appointed class clowns, I excelled at screwing off - period. Do I regret not buckling down and getting better grades and staying out of trouble? Yes, but it was fun. Some people claim you are only good academically in subjects you are interested in. That was me all the way - gym, art, and English - WTF?? Why couldn't those art classes be 5 credit courses??
Any who...the next time you are in G-town and have time to kill, stop up at the high school and go around back to the soccer complex. There your will find a soccer memorial stone for Chris Yellen & Brian Riddell that I designed and organized funding for last year. It was unveiled at the annual alumni soccer game and received many wonderful comments from old friends and family members of the guys.
College
The best and worst years of my life. Not to completely dis my heritage, I minored in Spring Break every spring semester for at least 5 of the 8 years it took to get my undergrad. rtunities and memories those sacred weeks in March gave. Ah, back to college -
I attended Concordia University in Mequon and received my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in `98. While at CUW, I played on the Men's soccer team [Woo Woo!]. I received my Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in `04. Once the boys are in school, I plan to go back for my Doctor of Nurse Practitioner (DNP) and will be forever in debt.
Present Day Life
Currently, life in good old G-town with my family: wife Kristin (Wolfgram - GHS 1995) and sons Max & Sam. I still volunteer with the Grafton Fire Department and am the Lieutenant of our engine company (we put the wet stuff on the red stuff) ghey I know. I'm playing soccer with an over 30 league in Cedarburg, which has taught me the meaning of "in moderation!" At 36, the mind tells the feet to do one thing, and they end up doing something completely different!
I really don't care though, I have adopted the ultimate excuse - and it's not the damned cliche, "I'm getting older." No, its from Toby Keith - and I quote,
"I'm not as good as I once was..." Very simple, very easy.
