oing on and I had a draft number of 43. Not much chance of getting a deferment. Spent 6 years with them, went to Guam, Thailand, and Germany as well as Utah and Rome, NY. Got out, went to Fredonia State, joined the Army ROTC, retired from the Army in 1994. Spent time in Korea, Germany, Egypt and in Aberdeen, Md. Also earned my MS/SM from FIT at this time. After retirement from the service I went back to Fredonia and earned my Teaching Certification in Earth Science and Chemistry. I started working for The Resource Center teaching groups to adults with mental illness. While I was still with the Army I had been diagnosed with MD which at that time was not affecting my service. About 2004 it took a turn for the worse and am now 100% disabled. I went from jogging and hicking the Appalachian Trail to wearing braces and using a walking stick within about 3 years. But I consider myself lucky, because I can live with it, my Charcot Marie Tooth will not kill me.".
