Captain Kevin Plourde is an Air Force Protocol Officer assigned to HQ AF Pentagon, Washington, DC.
kevin was born in New Britain, Connecticut, 4 May 1966. He moved to St. Agatha, Maine in 1976 and graduated from Wisdom High School in 1984. His interests included running, biking, golfing and triathlons.
Kevin entered the Air Force immediately upon graduation from high school. He arrived at Lackland AFB in December of 1984. He then attended technical school at Lowry AFB, CO earning his certification as an Inventory Management Specialist. His first assignment took him to RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom. His other assignments have taken him to Edwards AFB, CA, Lowry AFB, CO, Pope AFB, NC where he cross trained into the Education and Training Career Field. After completion of technical training at Sheppard AFB, TX his new assignment was at Kelly AFB, TX. Upon arrival he immediately started college courses to finish his baccalaureate degree. upational Education and Business Administration as well as a BS degree in Occupational Education and Corporate Training and Development. He entered OTS in Oct 2000 and graduated 12 January 2001.
In January 2001 he was assigned to the 96th Services Squadron at Eglin AFB, FL where he worked as the OIC of Lodging, Chief of Financial Accounting, Chief of Outdoor Recreation and OIC of Fitness. On 1 February 2002 he assumed the position of Food Services Officer where he led the Food Services Operation to its 3rd AFMC Gold Plate award in a row. He also led the Food Service Team to win the coveted John L. Hennessy Award for 2003.
While assigned to Eglin he was the 96th Services Squadron and 96th Mission Support Group Company Grade Officer of the year for 2002. His military decorations include the Air Force Accommodation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Achievement Medal 2 Oak leaf clusters, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation and the National Defense Service Medal with bronze star.
Kevin Plourde is married to the former Elaine Pelletier of Fort Kent, Maine. They have three beautiful children, Melissa Beth 16 yrs old, Amber Lynn 14 yrs old and James Edwin who is 8 yrs old.
