Kevin Pollock:

CLASS OF 1972
San antonio, TX

Kevin's Story

I was born in Abilene, TX where I lived until I was 7 years old. Our family consisted of my Dad, Donald E "Don" Pollock, my Mom, Dorothy L Pollock, me and my brother Randall D "Randy" Pollock. We moved to San Antonio, TX in 1968. This is when I began attending East Terrell Hills Elementary. I attended Krueger Middle School 1 year and then we moved to the El Dorado Subdivision off Nacodoches Rd. I attended Garner Middle School and MacArthur High School. I graduated from MacArthur in 1979. I was accepted to several colleges in Texas, but decided on Texas A&M to continue my education. I had planned on being a Mechanical Engineer but after failing Calculus 3 for the second time, I decided it was time to find another career path. I chose business management as my new major. As a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, I played trumpet throughout college and was elected as the Captain of the Bugle Rank my senior year at A&M. I was in B-Battery all 4 years I was in the band and my BQ buddies and our families get together every football season and have a great time. We are all looking forward to the 2015 football season when the redevelopment of Kyle Field will be complete and our season tickets become available. I met my future wife, Christine "Chrissy" Hurley, during the summer prior to my senior year. We both graduated in December of 1983 and were married the following week in her home town of Duncanville, TX. Two months later, I entered the Air Force as a Space and Missile Officer. We started our journey at Vandenberg AFB, CA and then moved to Whiteman AFB, MO. I was promoted to First Lieutenant and Captain while stationed there. We also added our first two sons, Ryan and Kyle t...Expand for more
o our family. Then we moved to Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX where our third son, Colton, was born. I thought it was cool that my last child was born in the same town as my Dad and me. From there we moved to the Washington DC area (Northern VA) where I worked for the On-Site Inspection Agency. During our tour there, I was promoted to Major. Then we moved to Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX as I did a stint at the Air Force Personnel Center. Then we moved to F.E.Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY. I was the Director of Operations of the 319th Strategic Missile Squadron and was also promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. From there we moved back to the Washington DC area where I worked as a Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty Mission Commander for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Our final assignment took us to Travis AFB, where I was the Commander of a Detachment associated with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. I retired from the Air Force in 2007 and moved to Seven Points, TX on Cedar Creek Lake. My wife's parents retired on this lake and she wanted to live close to them since they were getting older. I got involved in the local political scene and was elected to the City Council in May 2011. I became the Mayor of Seven Points in May 2012 and I was recently elected to become the next Justice of the Peace for Henderson County, Precinct 2. I will begin that job in January 2015. As of this writing, June 2014, two of our three boys live in Austin and one is living in Northern VA. We will be welcoming a daughter-in-law into the family this October and we are very excited to have her as part of our family. I hope whoever reads this has enjoyed this quick synopsis of my life to this point. Take care.
