Kieron's Story
Retrospect....
My family moved to Cutchogue the year I entered high school so I had no established base of friends on the North Fork.
Being a kid I was able to adapt and I made friends. And the core group of friends that I made during my formative years in high school are my best friends till this day. Oddly though, most of them attended Mattituck and Mercy high schools. Some of these friends are hugely successful, some of them are not. And sadly, some of them have passed.
As I look at the list of classmate names I see so many that I remember with fondness. And I do wonder sometimes.."what ever happened too......that person"? So, if you ever wondered whatever happened to me after high school, well here you go......
Story----
1974-77...
Limbo. Bad economy. Took every crap job you can imagine. Dish-washer, Oyster shucker, Gas Pump jockey. Spent 6 months in Manhattan working for my uncle.
Developed a lot of bad habits, wrecked a bunch of cars, hurt a lot of people and became a major menace to society. But still somehow managed to have some fun, after all that's what it's a all about, right?
1977-82...
US Navy. Smartest thing I ever did. I was assigned to a Carrier Task Force staff out of Cubi Pt. in the Philippines and later an ASW Ops center in Adak Alaska. I was an Operations Specialist that assisted the duty officer and handled communications and computer operations.
Developed more bad habits but at least I was pulling my own weight and learning how to function responsibly.
Places I visited, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Australia.
During this period I worked harder than I ever have, made more friends than I count, and had more fun than any man could deserve.
1982-96...
Back to NY. Somewhat deranged by having spent four and a half years overseas; two in the 3rd world and two and a half in the Aleutian Islands...which is kind of...Expand for more
like the 4th world.
Still had some really bad habits, wrecked a few more cars and ruined a few more good relationships. I leaned on some very good friends and took whatever job was available.
I attended the Grumman data Systems Institute and also attended classes at SUNY Farmingdale. Started looking for jobs in hi tech and quit my bad habits. Not so amazingly, things improved. Since then I've been gainfully employed as a Data Network and/or Network Security Specialist at several companies in a variety of industries.

In 1982 my son Ian was born to my girl friend Mardi.
In 1991 my wife JoAnn and I purchased a home in Manorville, NY.
In 1996 our daughter Erin was born.
1996-99
Sold the Manorville home and moved to South Park, PA. just south of Pittsburgh to be near JoAnn's Sister.
I worked for Mellon Bank as a Sr. Network Engineer.
1999-2005
I got an offer that I could not refuse so I took a job with Perot Systems and moved to Spring Hill Florida.
My Mom (2001) and Dad (2004) passed away so in 2004 I sold the Cutchogue house.
In 2005 I opted to work a Perot account in the Pittsburgh area and we sold the Florida home and moved back to South Park PA.
2005 - Present
Me, happily married, gainfully employed, biking, golfing, attending soccer matches.
JoAnn, super-mom, Asst. Soccer coach, does charity work...to much to list.
Ian is a Sargent in the US Army with time in Afghanistan. He also got married to his girlfriend Sara. They are now in Hawaii where Ian is stationed.
Erin is in 7th grade. Pretty as a peach. Soccer till she drops. Honor student.
We get back to NY on occasion to visit my friends on the north fork and JoAnn's family.
Thanks and Good luck to all that cared enough to finish my story.
