Kim's Story

Life My life is better than I ever thought it would be. It is funny how things work out. I turned out okay after all. Who would've thought? The majority of my time is dedicated to my daughter. Besides working two jobs and being a full-time student myself, I am very involved in her school and am an assistant leader for her Girl Scout Troop. Any extra time that I have is dedicated to the volunteer work that she and I do for the Humane Society. I look forward to the day when things settle down a little and I can just relax, but for now I am along for the ride. School I am still not sure how I feel about school. In some respects, I remember it as being horrible and painful and confusing, but on the other hand I wish that I had the time and energy and passion for things that I did at that time. t what ever happened to my old friends, and where they are today. College I think I am destined to be a professional student. I am THIS close to (finally) finishing my BS in Health Administration. I am also enrolled in a program to earn a certificate in Homeland Security, and the next step is to earn my Master's in Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness, with an emphasis on bioterrorism response. That's the plan, crazy as it may be. Workplace Oh, the things that I have done. Let's see...a lot of call center type stuff, mortgage processing, dental assisting, phone acting (please don't ask for details), staffing/recruiting, substitute teaching, and finally overnights supervisor for the Missouri Medicaid Transportation program. I don't care for my job all that much, but it is what it is, I suppose. It's not forever.
