Kim's Story
Life
Hi Everyone! I've worked a few interesting jobs such as building tractors for Case Corp.,and worked as a benefit rep at Hewitt Associates helping with 401k's, medical benefits, & pensions. I'm currently enrolled at Gateway working toward a Nursing degree. I've traveled a bit. Was married for 7 years and have 14 year old son that I named after one of our late classmates & one of my best friends...Brett Jacobson.
I finally was able to get divorced. I was married last December to a wonderful, hardworking man named Charlie. He's a combination of everyone I have ever loved in my life and ironically, I met him 18 years ago and didn't even realize it. Strange how things happen, eh? Oh, did I mention that I also gained an 8 yr old daughter through him and we welcomed another little girl, Chloe in December '08.
I've got it all now...A Happy marriage, 3 kids, a house and even a dauschound/black lab named Oscar! The best things in life are worth waiting for.
Biggest Crush? Hmmm...that's really difficult. Bill Jacobs, hands down.
Teacher that most inspired me? Mr. Dan Books. Best teacher ever!
Funniest Memory? I'd have to say it's a tie: (1) Watching Todd Thorne in the variety show in a skirt? Who would've known he'd become Kenosha's own CSI? Way to go, Todd! You've come a long way! :)
(2) Stephanie Gray & I Downhill Skiing at the Old Americana (N...Expand for more
ow the Grand Geneva?) The fast way into to a full-leg cast for 3 months!
Sure, I'd do it ALL over again. All of it & the same way plus a little more. Meaning I'd get more involved in school activities.
I don't meditate, some say I should, but I LOVE to Kayak on Lake Michigan! I own my own kayak and would love to explore rivers, streams, etc...Maybe if I make it to Alaska I will kayak amongst the whales! Talk about adrenaline! Lol!
I have a couple of heros. First and foremost is my father! He has ALWAYS been our Rock of Gibralter. He has always been the strength and backbone to our family. We have survived many gruelly years in and out of hospitals while my mother was alive, yet he ALWAYS got up EVERY DAY and worked 8-10hrs of hard laboring construction, cleaned up and drove 36 miles each direction to go sit with my mother while she was in the hospitals. He has ALWAYS given to others VERY GENEROUSLY both emotionally and monetarily. He wants for nothing and gives of everything. He is my hero. I must also say that my mother, even though we had our differences while I was growing up, she is probably the strongest, most determined woman I have ever known. She fought through every medical issue she had for 16 yrs. Everytime we thought she was down for the count...she got right back up kicking and screaming! I hope she is at peace now. I miss you Mom.
