Kim's Story
I have been a nanny/preschool teacher for 25 years now. I've also served as a companion aide for the elderly. My husband and I just celebrated our 12th anniversary. I plan on going back to school part time to finish at least my bachelor's degree within the next year. I love my life and find great joy in just "hangin out" with family and friends. I hope that my old friends, first, remember me...period...and second, remember me fondly as I remember those who touched my life.

Just discovered I never saved the above story. Oh well, things have changed quite a bit since then so I'll update...
On June 12, 2013 I lost my sweet husband, Terry, after 16 and a half years of marriage. I miss him desperately and just recently realized that I really hadn't dealt with the loss and so I started grief counseling last week. I never did get back into school but have just received my social security disability award letter after over two years of battle and plan on star...Expand for more
ting a degree program in social science with the goal of pursuing a counseling background. I have learned so much in the recent (and not so recent) past about myself and life in general that I think I can offer something to others who are going through the trials of life.
After graduating with the first graduating class from Show Low High School in Show Low, AZ, I received an Associate in Applied Science degree in Child Care Administration (basically preschool education) and started my over 30 year career as a nanny and sometime preschool teacher. I continue to stay active in church and community activities, still hang out with family and friends and am currently making plans to spruce up my 37 year old ranch style tract home in the biggest little city in the world, Reno, NV. I still love my life and feel very blessed. That's about it...hope to hear from others. I've already found several dear friends on Classmates. It's great to reconnect. Peace and blessings!
