Kim's Story
OK, so I made a mistake; I guess it was 1977 when I completed 8th grade at Hawthorne!
I moved to Spokane and have pretty much been in the area ever since. I always say I left my heart in Missoula, and I like to visit at least once a year.
I am a physician assistant, and my practice is in an all male medium security prison just outside Spokane. Before that I worked as a paramedic for 10 years, and prior to that I worked as a waitress.
I started running when I was 40; figured it was time to start "giving back", so I joined Team In Training. It's an organization that trains people to do endurance events, and in return they do fundraising to help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and blood related cancers. e decision to join I couldn't even run a block... seriously! I ran my first marathon in 2003, and since then I have run 6 marathons, about 13 half marathons and last year I did my first double century ride and triathlon. I recently signed up for a half-ironman in Lake Stevens next summer, so I'm working on my swim.
I married the man of my dreams 14 years ago, but I had to kiss a couple frogs before I finally found my prince. We have a son, and I have a daughter as well, from a previous frog marriage. She has given us 5 grandchildren, and number six is due any time!
Life is great, but it's also short... I want to live like I've only got 30 days left! I've heard if you can do this, you're really living. Making every moment count...
