Kim's Story
Hi Folks,
After high school, I continued to work full time. I went to Word Processing school and worked some more. I got married to Ron Barrett in 1989. We divorced in 1993. I remarried in 1994 and had two children, Richie-14 and Emily-13. I divorced their dad in 2002. I am again married, but this time to the love of my life. We are raising the kids in a Christian home. We are all very involved in our church and serving God. My husband is a Maintenance Mechanic at Banner Thunderbird and I am the Office Administrator for Calvary Baptist Church in Peoria, Arizona. We live in the MetroCenter area. Not too far from where I lived when I was at Alhambra. My parents stayed at that house until 2003 when they moved in with us. my dad is devoted to taking care of her, but is aging more quickly than he would like to admit.
So, that is my life. What is surprising to me is that I was so convinced when I graduated that I would either go to college (stay in college), get my degree in Business Administration and be a Hospital Administrator; or, I would go on Star Search and be a famous singer. In either scenario, I expected to be married to my work and childless. God certainly had other plans. I am certainly glad things did not go my way. I am content to sing in the church choir, be a helper to my husband and take care of the kids and my parents.
I am looking forward to reconnecting with some of my old friends from high school. I hope to hear from some of you soon.
