Kim's Story
Life
I left King City high in January of my grade 11 year to move to Orillia with my Mom and brother Ken. I went to High School at ODCVI in Orillia where I started dating my future husband Jeff. I became a hairstylist while he went to University of Guelph. We married. I went back to school, Univeristy. Jeff finished university and joined the military as a food Serivices officer. We were posted to Calgary, where I went to Mount Royal College and took the Industrial Hygiene technology program and we had our first child, Greg. We were then posted to Shilo in Manitoba for 3 years, where I went to University of Brandon, became a fitness instructor and had our second child, Jessica. Then we were posted to Damascus, Syria. a with the children. Then we were Posted to Ottawa then Calgary again and finally to North Bay. Jeff was diagnosed with a brain tumour in Calgary. After 2 years, and just 2 months after moving to North Bay he passed away. I moved our 2 children home to Orillia.
I met David who is also a widow. We have married and work to blend our families 5 teenagers. Best solution has been 2 houses for now.
Career wise I was in recreation as a fitness instructor, trainer, facility manager, for 10 years and then to earn a real living switched to banking. I still instruct fitness classes at the local YMCA for fun.
Biggest growth opportunity has been my children. They are great.
Biggest lesson in life is how important relationships are and how unimportant other stuff is.
