Kim's Story
Workplace
Kim started her Los Angeles career in 1981 as a pioneering producer in the new field of computer generated imagery where she created special effects for feature films and commercials. As a writer, producer, graphics designer, video editor and composer, she has been involved over the past twenty years in the entertainment business.
Kim started her writing career producing comedy radio spots and primetime network promos for ABC and Warner Bros. She then joined the writing staff of ABC's hit sitcom, ÂHome Improvement as a writer and Story Editor through its final season.
Kim has professionally collaborated with Tim Allen over the past fifteen years working as his ghostwriter, head comedy writer and speechwriter. She has developed and written a wide array of material for Tim including his stand-up comedy, award show appearances, public engagements, hosting events, press releases and his numerous talk show appearances including The Tonight Show, Letterman, Regis, Rosie, and opening comedy sketches for Oprah and The Montreal Comedy Festival. nd Too Close to a Naked Man and ÂIÂm Not Really Here, and developed two sitcom pilots while heading up television development for his company, Boxing Cat Productions.
In addition to writing and punch-up work for numerous other performers, Kim has also written for Universal on the film, ÂFor Richer or PoorerÂ; headed up the creative writing team for Comedy CentralÂs ÂSmall DosesÂ; and has performed re-writes and punch up for FoxÂs ÂJoe SomebodyÂ, DisneyÂs ÂThe Santa Clause 2Â and "The Shaggy Dog", and Sony's "Zoom" (coming out Aug 2006).
Kim has been published in numerous magazines, and directed and co-wrote ÂLife on MarsÂ, a One-Man Comedy Musical that was performed at the HBO Work Space. She is currently in development on a one-man multi-media theatrical stage show for Mr. Allen.
Kim has also performed stand-up comedy at The Comedy Store and comedy improvisation with The Groundlings in Los Angeles. She was a recent guest speaker at the Montreal Comedy Festival and can be seen on Bravo's "Inside the Actor's Studio" in May.
