Kim's Story
Life
After high school, I met my husband, Russ, and we were married in 1979. I had three children: Sarah, Hannah, and Scott. Sarah is married to David, and they have two girls: Aidan, and Erin. Hannah is married to Jerry and has two sons, Gabriel and Orian. Jerry has 3 children. Scott is living at home and working at Subway. He wants to join the Army in another year. So that makes 3 kids and 7 grandkids.

nnsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company E. On an average of one weekend a month (sometimes more) we get to travel back in time and live in the 19th century. We take the months of July and August off due to the heat in this part of the country, but other than that, we do this year-round. I am the camp cook and seamstress. I also work at the field hospital as a nurse when our surgeon comes.
As a re-enactor I get to do and see a lot of things that spectators don't get the chance to experience. The highlight of my re-enacting career was at our company muster at Fort Gibson in January of 2007. They threw aside all of the gates meant to keep guests out and told us to help ourselves to anything that we found there. We slept on straw mattresses on period bunks in log buildings heated only with a fireplace. We cooked the company meals in the fireplace in the mess hall. It was totally awesome.
