Kim's Story
Born in North Platte, NE, Kim grew up in the Fort Collins area, graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1967. After being drafted into the US Army in 1970, he served for two years on active duty, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon his discharge from active duty, Kim served in the Army National Guard for two years. While attending college at the University of Northern Colorado, Kim enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program and was commissioned in 1975. He retired from the Air Force in 1994. arole for 15 years, the last five of which he served as a District Manager. He retired from that position in 2013.
Kim obtained his BA in English from the University of Northern Colorado in 1975 and his MA in Communication with Emphasis in Organizational Leadership in 1985.
Kim has been married to Diane (King) Harvey (FCHS class of 72) since 1974. They have two children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Diane has worked as a Dental Hygienist in Boise for 25 years. They live on a small acreage outside of Nampa, Idaho and enjoy gardening, raising chickens, and traveling,
