Kimberlee's Story

I am a Registered Nurse and I work in Hospice. I help People that are dying by addressing their pain and other symptoms. I manage approximately eight Patients, work with an LPN and CNA's , plus a Team of others, such as, a Medical Director, Social Workers, a Chaplain and other RN's. I've worked in other areas of Nursing but this area allows me to be more independant and utilize the knowledge I have to help my Patient's and their Families cope with death.. I would say one of my Hero's is my Mother-in Law Darlene Simmert,RN. She's trully amazing, inspiring Woman of God. Mother Teresa is also one of my heros. I share my home with my Husband of 26 years, Larry , four children, two Guinea Pigs and a Dwarf Hamster, which I find wonderful. I think being named to Who's Who in American Nursing,Madison Who's Who, Empire Who's Who, Who's Who in American HighSchool as well as a nomination to Who's Who in Global Leadership are amazing. In 10 years, I hope to be a Nurse Practioner. I'm going to get there by going back to school for my Masters degree.. My oldest Friends were Christy and Dawn, from Swan Hillman School. I think we clicked because we cared about each other, we could depend on each other when times weren't so good. I think People from HighSchool would be surprise...Expand for more
d at how much I've matured. The popularity stuff doesn't matter anymore, there are hurting People out there that I can help. I hope old Friends will remember that I am a caring Person. I don't want them to necessarily see me, but to see Christ in what I do. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is: My Grandmother, Blanche Eike, because she past down the Norweigian Traditions I love and was the glue that held my Family together. The biggest surprise in my life was: finding out what the Triplet Pregnancy would mean to my body and my Family. I spent most of the time on " modified bedrest" , or total bedrest and then in the Hospital. There were alot of medications I needed to be on in order to keep those little ones, until it was safe to deliver them. My Husband was told that he might have to choose who might live or die. God saw us through, it was amazing. People that remember me know me as this really skinny tall girl, but God can use anyone for any purpose, if they trust him. I think bringing three babies home was the most amazing gift I could have ever gotten, eventhough the smallest weighed 3 lbs 14oz when we brought her home. The two boys were over 5lbs each when they came home. A far cry from the 8lb 7oz baby girl I'd had six years prior.
