During and after my college years, the majority of my career has been spent in Public Relations and Special Events split between the Fashion and Entertainment Industries. I have recently resigned from an International Model and Talent Scouting Agency to concentrate on a few personal, creative writing projects and am currently self-employed part time.
Military
I grew up as an "Air Force Brat" and my family lived in Italy prior to being stationed at Dover AFB in Delaware where I entered into public elementary school. Somehow I managed to stay put in Dover through my 13 school years, but even at home station, military life can be hard. In a search for predictability and stability, once I was old enough to be on my own I would leave Dover and vow never to be involved with that lifestyle again.

add to the irony is the fact that we were introduced to one another in Dover while I was visiting my parents. I returned home to South Florida, but eventually came back to Dover to marry him in 1997. So there I found myself, once again, stationed at Dover Air Force Base.
Immediately upon the return from our honeymoon, we received our first orders to be stationed in Central America and were off to Panama within a few months. True to my memories, military life has had its "ups" and "downs", but the most significant benefit has been the opportunity to travel abroad and I wouldn't trade that for anything!
As a military veteran, I've also been able to share my knowledge and give support to those who have spouses deployed overseas. Particularly, women who marry and shortly thereafter, have to send their husbands off to the Middle East. With no prior experience, these young wives really have no idea the depth of their future sacrifices. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to share with them and to bring some semblance of hope and peace into their lives.
So it would seem, looking back at my childhood, that there was a "method to the madness" after all -- and as a military spouse, I'm ever so grateful for the enrichment that experiencing other cultures and meeting the native people has brought to my life.
