Kimberly's Story
Life Story
After leaving MHS, I went to UCSB where for the most-part, I stood out like a sore thumb among the casual, 'hippyish' crowd - I was definitely more formal and traditional than my peer group. The overall experience was good for me and pushed me to loosen up a bit. I majored in music, but ultimately graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies with a music emphasis.
After that, I moved to Atlanta to sing with Robert Shaw (the best choral director of the 20th century) and the Atlanta Symphony Chorus. It was the musical pinnacle of my life! Unfortunately, I had to move "back home" after a year because my parents grew tired of subsidizing me. Can't say as I blame them.
So, in order to get a "real job" I enrolled in the paralegal program at UCLA. I worked as a paralegal for 2 years and networked my way into a fabulous career as an Account Rep for a very large legal publisher. I spent 13 years with them, both in Los Angeles and Orange County.

en, I swear, I could write a very funny book about those adventures. In Feb. 2000, I met my husband David. We both were living in Orange County and 6 months after we met, he was offered a job in WA State. So, he proposed and we were married 4 months after that. A year later came our adorable son Christopher, who was born in January '02.
We were 'exiled' to Cleveland, OH in the fall of '04. Despite what Drew Carey says, the place definitely does not rock. After only 9 months there we were so homesick for Washington, my husband searched for a new job that would enable us to return.
In Fall of '05, we did and lived in Bothell, a suburban area just north of Seattle for 3 years. In July '08, we bought a business east of the Cascade mountains and now live in Selah, part of the Yakima Valley wine country of WA State. After 4 moves in 8 years, and now that we are business owners, we won't be moving again for at least 20 years.
