Kimberly's Story

Life About me . . . hum . . . I am single and hate it. I was born/raised/live in Manassas Park. Besides working all of the time, I love to travel. For the last two years, I have gone on a cruise to Alaska and Hawaii. In my spare time, I like to go to the movies, hiking, camping, playing PS2/PC games (my favorites are DDR and SIMS2), playing with my dog, and spending time with my nieces/nephews (I have them spoiled rotten, that is an aunts right). I also like helping with charity walks. Work After college, I went back to the factory that I worked at during my summer breaks for a few months. In September 1998, I was hired by Keyboarding Communication/TSI to work as a contractor for the Lockheed Martin Manassas site. I got involved in the HR department working as an admin until October 2000. In October 2000, I got a full-time job with Lockheed Martin working in the staffing department and I loved it, but my job was slowing starting to go away with outsourcing parts of my job, so I decided it was time to move on. I accepted a job as a Configuration Analysis at a government facility and I quit on the first day. They lied to me and told me it was a computer intenstive job. I went back to my HR department and told them to find me a new job or I was quiting. They temporary assigned me to help the Tech Ops group with staffing numbers. After a few months, I was hired back to the Lockheed Martin Manassas site working as a HR Information Analysis (computer nerd). I just love it. I currently have been in this position since December 2003. College After high school, I was accepted into a small Baptist college in Boling Springs, NC called Gardner-Webb University. I really did not want to go to a Baptist college since I didn¿t believe in God, but I am sure glad I did. About half way through my college years I got really lost and if it was not for a few of my friends, Tammy Taylor and Jena Farr, I would probrobly not be here today. They helped me through a very rough...Expand for more
time in my life and talked to me about God. I gave my life to God on January 28, 1998 and was baptized on April 26, 1998. In college, I played on the softball team. I was recruited to be a pitcher, but when I got there, they did not like the sling shot pitching, so I only got to pitch a few times my Freshman year. The first time I pitched was in Panama City during a tournament. I was so excited when I finally got to play, that I ran out on the field and twisted my ankle. I pitched that inning and had to come in and get my ankle taped up. The rest of the game that I pitched, I pitched a no hitter, so I am not sure why they would not let me pitch more often. My Sophomore year I played some on third base. My Junior year, I did not get to play much at all (I think the coach did not like me). My Senior year (we got a new coach), I played some on first base, but I mainly was a designated hitter. I couldn¿t hardly hit squat that year. I found out when I came home from college that I had a psedutumer and probrobly had my vision messed up for a few years because my peripheral vision was messed up back in college and I almost lost my vision in 2000 (which is now why I have to wear glasses). I graduated on May 9, 1998 with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Management Information Systems. High School I graduated from Manassas Park High School (with honors) in 1994. I was a member of the FBLA, chess club, National Honors Society, and a few other clubs that I can no longer remember the name of. My favorite thing in high school was playing sports. I played on the varsity volleyball and softball team. We won the season title in 1994, but got killed in the final tournament against Brentsville High School. When I wasn¿t playing sports on the high school team, I was playing league softball during the Spring and Summer for the MPPPSL (or sometimes coaching softball). My life used to be totally revolved around sports until high school/college was over.
