Kirk's Story

Life Enlisted in the Air Force right after graduation. Trained as a Chinese linguist (and later as a Vietnamese linguist). Worked in intelligence and airborne reconnaissance. Retired as a Senior Master Sergeant at age 39. Went to school on GI Bill and finished a BS and MBA. Worked as administrator for Arizona Dept of Transportation for several year...Expand for more
s. Later taught at University for 11 years. Now my wife (of 50+ years) and I are fully retired. Do volunteer work (20+ years preparing taxes for low-income members of our community) and travel (44 countries, 11 Canadian Provinces/Territories and all 50 states). Interesting factoid: both my mom and my grandmother graduated from Washington High School.

We found that Koalas have a nasty disposition but this one let me scratch his back.

This mammoth rock rises out of the completely flat desert floor and shows a red color.  We're told that the part we see above ground represents only one fourth of the rock.  The other three fourths is below ground.
Near Ayers Rock (the Outback's Red Center) where the bush flies are fierce.
A salt lake that's now dry.  Still looks like there's water there.
The bigger story was that the man in the striped shirt raised this abandoned dingo (wild dog) from a pup.  The subplot is that the dingo (named Dinky) sings on key to the piano music our fellow traveller played.  Dinky is a
