Kirsten's Story
Well I ended up working several jobs and saving up to do some traveling. I went to New Zealand then Australia - falling in love with the land of Oz. After I came back I fell into a job in real estate as an escrow officer and stayed at the same company for 7 years. I realized that time was getting away from me, and in 1998 I moved to Georgia to complete my BA at the University of Georgia. Why Georgia you ask? Well - I met my husband online and he lived in Athens, GA. So I relocated to move in with him, and as the cost of living was so stupendously low I could finally afford to go to college. :-)
I graduated in 2001 with a degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology and worked for a couple of years in that field. Living in the South really made me aware of the cultural advantages of growing up in California - that and the advantages of good pest con...Expand for more
trol! *lol* In 2003 I got a job offer in Las Vegas in Escrow and moved my family out to the desert. Last year the market tanked (as everyone knows) and the company I worked for closed its doors abruptly. I had no desire to return to the criminal justice industry - so I found a job as a worker's compensation adjuster. Interesting how you end up in fields you never thought you would....
My internet boyfriend Joe and I married in 2001 and in 2006 we welcomed our son Zach into the world. We live on the outskirts of Vegas with our 4 dogs, and 3 cats. There are days when I miss good old Sonoma County for the fog - but I have to say that the climate here (except in July and August) agrees with me - and I really like living where I do. Had you told me 20 years ago that I would end up living in Las Vegas and LIKING it I would have told you - you're nuts!
