Christopher's Story
Well, it's been some years now, so I suppose it's time for an update. After having been a lawyer and a judicial official for over 20 years, I've had my fill of courtrooms and lawyers. It's time for a change, and Kathleen and I are eager to start what's next.
My legal career was wide-ranging. I've done criminal trial work, both as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney, I've been a judge, and I've practiced in state and federal courts, as well as serving as a Cyberlaw consultant in Morocco and Algeria. It's been an interesting experience.
As to creative projects, I've worked as an actor, had a gallery premier of my digital artwork, and seen two novels, a collection of poetry, and four plays published. It's been the most satisfying part of my life, and that's where I'm going to focus my attention from here on.
It hasn't all been a smooth path, however. I broke 22 bones in a parachuting accident (yes, I still jump from time to time) had a motorcycle accident that put Kathleen and me in the hospital for a few weeks (yes, we still ride!) and I was diagnosed with cancer eleven years ago. After a struggle that made a couple of ...Expand for more
years a misery, I was able to beat the cancer with the help of my steadfast, loving wife and a fantastic doctor. There has been no evidence of the cancer's return for the last ten years, so I suppose I'll have to die of something else. Eventually.
As for what we do for fun, we ride our Goldwing, travel, especially to southern Europe, collect wine and books (we have a library of over 4000), and participate in Eastern Star, our Masonic Lodge, and the Shriners, where I learned to play the bagpipes.
Kathleen and I have been married now for 23 years. She is, without question, the best thing that ever happened to me, by far. I couldn't have imagined a better wife. She's the joy of my life,
A wise man once said, "Life is what happens while you're making other plans." We had planned to move to Spain, but ended up in Salinas, Ecuador. An opportunity came along that was just too good to pass up. We are very happy here. The weather is fantastic, the cost of living is a fraction of the cost in the USA, and the people are welcoming. I'll post a few pics here,
I hope everything is as good for all of you as it is for us. Buena suerte!
