Kitty's Story

Most everything in my life centers around family. We have four children (two girls and twin boys), ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There is always something going on in the family. I love to shop, go to rummage sales, read, visit with friends, plan events and travel. I feel our family has the best of both worlds as we live in the subburbs on a large lot with privacy but are still close to larger cities. I like working in the yard and enjoy watching the birds and animals in our yard. A favorite past time is to research subjects or events on the internet and do most of my communications thru the computer. We have a son who is a marine so our family is active in groups to support our military. Hopefully soon I will get back to college-I never finished and that is the biggest regret of my life. Looking forward to hearing from former classmates. 11/2014 Time keeps marching on and my body certainly feels it. My first grandson is graduating from High School (Kohler) this year and I can hardly believe I have reached my mother's age!! The grandchildren are one of the greatest joys of my life. I am still working 20 hours a week at Home Depot to keep busy and hope to keep working for a few more yea...Expand for more
rs. My husband is still working and I am glad to be able to vary my schedule to travel with him at times. It is nice to be able to go at a slower pace and do more of what I want to do rather than what I have to do! Growing older is a challenge and I pray for everyone's continued good health. 9-27-2017 Life can change in a second ! I am now a widow for 2 years. Jim was diagnosed with liver cancer and died two months later at the age of 67. Two months later I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer stage iv. I had whipple surgery, chemo and radiation. Now I a cancer free, doing better than ever expected and being thankful for every day. My life centers around family as usual. A divorced son lives with me and keeps up with the maintenance on the house and yard that I can no longer do. My children have been my life lines. I would not have survived without their physical and emotional support. I now have 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren . There are many cousins to socialize with. It is difficult at times being a widow. I love going places but now I have to make new friends who are free to go also. It is a whole new life. Any suggestions on new hobbies or places to visit, let me know. God Bless
