Kjerstin's Story

Written before our 30 year reunion: OK to start, how is it possible we've been out of high school for nearly 30 years? That is completely insane! In recent years I've been able to reconnect with some high school alum, and our collection of stories and experiences make me very proud to share a history from Manual High School. I believe Manual helped us to shape a view of the world that includes acceptance and celebration of all kinds of diversity, that we care about the world's populations and the planet, and that we have made great strides to be the best we can be. Here's to Manual and the great people it has launched into the world! My story has become so cumbersome that I hesitate to share it... at all! Suffice it to say, on my death bed I will not have regrets for the things I never had the courage to try. I've had quite an adventurous life already! I recently started a blog to help me work through some of the questions that I am facing, and to share with others my description of the experience of being human. TheRangerChronicles.com I share my heart and soul, and I share it with you! I look forward to connecting with you through Classmates, Facebook, or my blog. And perhaps I will see you in Denver August 2014! Namaste, Kjer...Expand for more
stin Written before our 20 year reunion: College I loved college, and wouldn't mind an academic life. However I won't sign on again unless I can do it without working at the same time! (Yes, and raising my son too!) Preferred smaller classes with more interactions. Workplace For the majority of my career, I chose jobs based on juggling various priorities: being in a helping profession, flexible hours for being a mom & college student, some semblance of a career path, and enough wages to pay the rent. This past year I've reevaluated my goals as my primary one (raising my son) is now completed. Now it's all about ME. Well, that still means working in nonprofits. But I've moved to a small town favoring quality of life, and my number one criteria in finding a job is harmonious work environment. I want to look forward to going to work each day, and a big part of that is my co-workers. So ironically (especially if you knew about the chip I've carried on my shoulder for so long), I work in an environment that has no boundaries between professional and personal. We share intimate details of our private lives; we cry; we drink wine together. And we work our asses off every day with barely time to take a deep breath. I love it!!
