Klaus's Story
After Bergen Stret, Arts High and Irvington High, I studied at Rutgers University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Economics in 1985 upon which I voluntarily entered the US Air Force to avoid the draft durning the Vietnam conflict. I spent most of my Air Force career overseas and retired as a Major in 1985. I lived in Key West,FL for a few months and then decided to move to Germany late 1985. I have lived in Kaiserslauter, a city just a few miles from the French border, where the largest American community outside the continental US is located, ever since. + years in management at a US Credit Union serving the military overseas and retired again two years ago at 64. I visit my family in Washington, DC and/or my dearest friend in New Orleans at least once a year. Sometimes they visit me here. My next sojourn to the USA and specifically to the "Big Easy" will start in February 2010.
I never married and have no children and like my life, especially since I quit smoking 18 weeks ago after enjoying tobacco for 53 years and losing about 26 lbs at the same time. The picture was taken just before my second retirement in 2007. I look a bit better now :-)
