Koosje (Jake)'s Story
Born in The Netherlands and moved to Canada at age 3. Went to Maple leaf until age 10 when we moved back to Holland. After 10 months we found we couldn't adjust and moved back to Canada, where I attended Pr. Margaret school. Here I changed my name to Jake as people couldn't pronounce Koosje (sounded like cozy). s very different) I was drafted and spend 14 months in the army with the health corp. After this I went back to school and worked as an X-ray technician for 4 years and went on to nuclear medicine. Now I am employed in Health Physics for the University (Reactor Institute Delft).
Other than a 6 week visit to Canada in '84 I haven't been back yet. I hope to visit relatives in Winnipeg in July 2012 with my family. I have a wife and two daughters (age 8 and 16).
