After highschool, I put my college plans on hold and attended an airline academy in Vancouver, WA where I received computerized reservation agent training (you know, back when "desktop" computers were not yet a household name?!) I was hired by an airline in Chico, CA and thought my ship had come in since all I wanted was to end up back in my native born state, living the single life, hopping flights whenever my schedule allowed and otherwise basking in the California sun. Problem was, Chico, CA wasn't exactly southern California and it was the worst time to be in the airline industry (remember the air traffic controller strikes, not to mention the lousy economy?) Consequently, I ended up back in Cheyenne, not working in the airline industry! I worked for an architectural firm for 10 years, married and had a son in 1986. I rekindled the education path in 1987, continued working for the firm and raising my son while attending school part-time. I graduated from U.W. in May, 1992 with a B.S. in Accounting. After dabbling in public accounting and business ownership I began working for the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra in 1994 as Accountant/Executive Assistant.
