Kristi's Story
I haven't done much since high school - went to college, got a degree, got married, got into grad school, dropped out of grad school :), had 3 (yes, 3!) kids - and that brings you up to today! I have a pretty good job in spite of myself and my laissez faire attitude about things in general, but I am for sure not a doctor, a nurse, a lawyer, or anything remotely world-altering.
My kidlets (previously referred to as my chicas):
My kids (2 girls and 1 boy - see photos) are a handful but can be very amusing and lots of fun if you keep your sense of humor (being cute saves them about 95% of the time!). I mean, exactly what do you do when your 2-year-old says "frickin' dumbass" in exactly the same tone as you do every hour you are in rush hour traffic? Or when your 6-year-old asks you, "Do you see the sign? Do you?" when you park in the handicapped stall to run into the preschool?
My man:
My husband is funny in a Seinfeld sense - which is humorous since he HATES Seinfeld (the original sho...Expand for more
w about nothing) - and is the sole reason for my kids' cute factor and brain power (although he does say my kids get their sassy attitudes from me - who, me?). Clearly, as a group, we drive him to the brink of insanity, at least weekly, if not daily.
To recap:
Life has been pretty good in spite of the fact that I started out wanting to change myself and the world completely and did not do much of either (although I do wax my eyebrows from time to time and have gained about a zillion pounds - which my husband (clearly a man who understands being married, or at least understands his wife) says is just genes). The fact is that I remain, as ever, myself - alternately amused and frustrated by life in general, ever-so-slightly micromanaging (stop laughing), mostly good-humored and still embracing the belief that all humans are inherently good, and when irritated, easily pacified by things such as perfume, a good belly laugh, a small compliment, a big hug, or a small piece of good chocolate.
