Kristi's Story
First I wanted to fill my life dream of being a rock groupie. I had that dream after meeting my hot rocknroll crush at 16. Finally at 21 I was able to bed drummers, lead guitar players, and bass players. Were they famous? Well, thats a secret.
Then I decided to be a teacher. That didn't work out either. I joined a middle ages reinactment group, and met my husband.
We got married and had 2 kids. Then I decided to be a nurse. In school, my oldest son was having social and school problems. He was diagnosed with Asperger's Symdrome. Which is a mild form of high functioning autism. He's a lot like me when I was a kid.
WELL SURPRISE!!!!! It turns out I have Aspergers too. That is why I struggled socially and academically as a child. Back in the 70s, they didn't know much about high functioning autism, or attention deficit ...Expand for more
disorder. I was my teachers worst nightmare.
I got a B+ in chemistry when I started nursing school. I got an A- in Anatomy and physiology.
Somehow, I found the help I needed.
I am now a registered nurse working for homecare and hospice.
I am writing a book about my childhood as an undiagnosed kid with autism and add. It is also about my son's struggles with this disorder as well. If you would like to learn more about Aspergers Syndrome, go to my myspace page
